Pipeline, GSU take commanding leads in KVF League finals

Kenya Pipeline and GSU took commanding leads in the 2024 KVF league finals after straight-set wins on Friday. The two sides are now one victory away from securing the national titles as the best-of-three series continues on Saturday at Kasarani.
Kenya Pipeline and General Service Unit (GSU) are one win away from lifting the 2024 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league titles after dominant straight-sets victories in Game One of the women’s and men’s finals respectively, played on Friday at the Kasarani Indoor Gymnasium.
The KVF finals are played in a best-of-three format, with the first team to win two matches clinching the title. Pipeline and GSU now have the advantage heading into Saturday's Game Two. A win will hand them the championship; a loss would force a decisive Game Three on Sunday.

In the women’s final, Pipeline overpowered debutants Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) with a clinical 3-0 win (25-19, 25-20, 25-14). DCI, making their first-ever appearance in a KVF final, struggled to match Pipeline’s experience and cohesion.
Victory in Game Two would see Pipeline reclaim the title they last won in 2022, while DCI must bounce back to stay in contention.
In the men’s final, defending champions GSU asserted their dominance over Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) with a 3-0 triumph. GSU stormed through the first set 25-15, and although KPA put up a stronger fight in the next two sets, they eventually fell 25-22 and 30-28.
GSU now stand on the brink of back-to-back league titles. KPA, on the other hand, will be fighting to keep the series alive when they meet again on Saturday.
